The first type is corporate socialism... In an effort to keep home values from falling and to keep American automotive companies from going belly-up, the whole of the American mortgage market is socialized and American car manufacturing put on the public dole.

A second type of American socialism comes in the form of a gargantuan military industrial complex that plows through more than a trillion taxpayer dollars each year to sustain the American empire around the world, and be enriched, of course.

Yet a third type is that which provides social security and medical benefits for older Americans, people who believe that because they have paid into these systems their entire lives, they are entitled to receive back as much as possible.

These three systems of socialism are a main cause of the American bankruptcy. They are absolutely unsustainable. A consistent application of the principle of liberty must take aim at these programs, across the board, with no exceptions. You whine that folks who promised to 'defend' this collection of words while employed in government servitude are forever obligated to keep such promise even after they leave government service. You think that such folks' lives are resources to forever maintain support for words.

You put your children on a plane to hell, knowing full well that you are sending them to the potentional destruction of their minds and bodies through service to a government, in the name of your own safety. You hold that sacrifice to the greater good is a moral imperitive so long as such sacrifice comports with your own collectivist bias, that a life is a resource for collective benefit.

Random Observations

RANDOM OBSERVATIONS

7 February, 2011

If you live long enough, you die. When the lies result in misery, the voters vote for some other lies.

Traditions and Ideals

Prejudice, immature attitudes, and unbecoming behaviour have no place in any rational society. By definition, his actions are heroic. His actions define the survivors as heroes too. When the surviving OGs kill an aggregate of any number of TGs before they go home they too, must be adored. Who knows how many lives at home were saved by the deaths of any number of TGs?

Let us assume that an OG single handedly wipes out 4 TG machine gunners and saves 15 of his OG buddies from being killed by TGs.

He is a hero by definition. His actions define his buddies as heroes too. Since they’re heroes by association, their behaviour is heroic. If they kill any number of TGs they are saving any number of lives at home and deserve adoration by residents of the homeland or whatever.

Let’s assume an OG casts a puppy from a cliff. He is a hero because he is an OG. An OG is a hero by association because the buddies of the machine-gun-nest exterminator, heroes by association, are OGs. See how that works? Whatever he does is heroic. He is preventively saving your life by terminating any possibility that the puppy could infect you with rabies or some other lethal disease. Never mind that the puppy is on the other side of the planet, would not ever make its way to you, and therefore would not be able to infect you. The thought counts.

Let’s assume an OG in a chair remotely controls a combat drone into launching a missile into a wedding party. That’s OK. It does not matter that he killed people who were adjacent to the missile target. He is a hero because he prevented the possibility that any of the wedding party members could kill you. Never mind that they had never heard of you, had no interest in you, were all about their wedding, and were barely acquainted with the target. The thought counts.

Let’s assume that OGs come home and, at the direction of their supervisors, watch over you to protect you from TGs. The OGs direct your movements and your activities. They search you and your property at any time. They collect and safeguard your possessions, including firearms. They do this to save you from dying without permission from somebody else, even if this means killing you to get your cooperation. The thought counts.

Aren't these OGs wonderful? Don't you feel secure knowing that these heroes are willing to save lives by taking lives?

Warning: this essay contains Swiftian Analytical Logic Elements (SALEs). They then claim that collective responsibility defines individual character. This view conflicts with the axiom of self-sovereignty: that you own your own life. Your actions define your character. You are responsible for how you turn out.

So, through the years, different groups of folks were blamed for misfortunes because some of the group members committed atrocities

Jews who manipulated financial events for their own benefit, canibalised children, and want to take over the world.

Catholics who molested boys, tortured believers who didn't practice the faith correctly, and want to take over the world.

Germans who practiced Occult procedures, killed Jews, and want to take over the world.

Communists who made everyone equally poor, killed landowners, and want to take over the world.

Mexicans who stole jobs, reproduced indiscriminately, and want to take over the world.

Teenagers who consumed without end, copulated all the time, and want to take over the world.

Muslims who abused women and boys, killed non-believers, and want to take over the world.

In each example critics claim that everybody in the referenced group wants to take over the world. In each example some folks committed acts that reflected poorly on the group of which they were members. In each example critics want to use coercion to address the concerns they have about their targeted group.

I read that a group of folks witnessed a man hanging a seven-year-old boy, and didn't intervene. How about that? So now, somebody else wants to kill everybody in the area in which this man killed the boy. She wants to blow up the whole town as an object lesson to others about what will happen to them if they kill, or permit someone else to kill, a child. The objects of her ire are adherents to a belief system different from her own.

An estimated two dozen teenagers at a dance watched some guys beat, rob, and rape a girl their age(15 years old) over a two-hour period. They took pictures. They shared those pictures. They texted about what they saw. Some laughed and cheered. They went back into the dance or elsewhere. They just went on with their lives. Isn't that wonderful? Outraged folks have demanded that these bystanders should be busted for allowing the guys to assault the girl. Some folks have actually suggested that those who shared the pictures should be busted on child porn charges.

In each case, folks condemn the bystanders because they did not intervene to stop the actions by the perpetrators. In each case folks want(ed) government employees to bust the bystanders. Or to kill them.

A problem is that when government employees act, they do so using stolen money. Money that government employees collected from folks by threatening to harm or to kill them.

Robbery is seizing another's justly-owned property without the owner's consent.

In taxation, representatives of government seize subjects' justly-owned property without their subjects consent-always under the threat of severe penalties if they refuse to comply.

Therefore, taxation is definitionally and morally synonymous with robbery.

Why is using stolen money to bust or kill people moral?

14.06.2010

A History Lesson

The fight for liberty will always be hard.

There is a story about a guy who took on a very physically imposing fellow who was well armoured and well armed. Daniel Moriaty and I were among the faithful who made the pilgrimage this year.

Dan, a combo driver, rode his new-looking burnt red 1983 Harley Davidson XLX Sportster. I rode 'Gomer,' a ratty black 1968 XLH Sporster chopper. We had both just gotten our bikes out of the Iron Eagle Shop in Castaic, CA.

We left Dan's house about noon on Friday, August 2, and got to Las Vegas nine hours later. Because we were riding in very hot weather and were still breaking in the engines to our scoots, we would ride for about an hour at 50-55 mph and break for a half hour.

We left the Vegas KOA early to try to beat the heat. That was the plan, anyway. But I screwed up in packing my goodies on Gomer and held us up for at least an hour securing and re-securing my load. As we got underway, my stuff wourld lean to the right at about a 45 degree angle, threatening to fall off. It was a bit unsettling, and frustrating, too. After the third stop, I was able to quit worrying and enjoy the ride again.

We went north on I-15 and saw several Viking triples going south as we rode along. Before we knew it, we were out of Nevada, through Arizona, and in Utah. We turned east at I-70 and camped for the night in Richfield.

Sunday morning we rode to Salina for breakfast and gas. We knew that we faced an intimidating 108 miles to Green River without any gas stations. No problem, we thought, we'll just buy a one or two gallon gas can with gas and carry it with us. Yeah, right. None of the places we checked had gas cans that small.

Fortune smiled on us, slightly. A trucker, hearing of our plight, dug up a gallon container of window wash, distributed the contents among his buddies, and gave us the container. I filled it, bungeed it to the back of Gomer, and we were off. Well, as it turned out, we made it to the next gas station 108 miles down the road on wha we had in our gas tanks. I used the gas in the container, and threw away the container.

We got as far as New Castle, CO and camped at the KOA there, a beautiful campground nestled right next to a stream in an evergreen forest, with squirrels scampering upand down the trees and birds chirping in the branches. If you are ever in that part of the world, do camp there for the night. You'll be glad you did.

The next day, we were up at sunup. An hour later, Dan and I began riding through the scenic Rockies, with green trees, multi-coloured rock formations, fantastic clouds, and lots of blue sky. We rode through Denver and turned north onto I-25 heading for Cheyenne, Wyoming.

As we got to the Wyoming border, Gomer ran out of gas! Just then a group of bros heading up to Sturgis stopped to take pictures of the border sign; one bro transferred some gas from his bike to mine, and we were able to continue.

We gassed up in Cheyenne, and seeing a fireworks store next to the station, decided to buy a few firecrackers for later. When we bought the merchandise we had to fill out a bill of lading, and the baper bag in which the firecrackers were carried had to have a hazerdous material label that said, 'Explosives-Class C!' Dan and I traded jokes about transporting HM on our motorcycles before resuming our journey.

We left Cheyenne thinking we were headed north. When we crossed into Nebraska, we realised we'd taken a wrong turn somewhere. Checking our maps, we determined that we could still reach Sturgis via Highway 385.

At our last daylight gas stop, I discovered that my headlight didn't work!?!. So Dan and I rode for an hour-and-a-half in the dark using just his headlight. Believe me, I stayed real close to Dan during that time!

Thirteen hours after leaving New Castle, we stopped in Hot Springs, South Dakota for the night.

Next morning, on our way to Mount Rushmore, we were in a paradise of motorcycles. There were more Harleys than any other make, but other marques were well represented on the road. I saw VW-powered trikes, sidecar-equipped dressers, choppers, old bikes, new bikes, etc, etc.

There was a feeling of excitement all around and everyone was so friendly to each other. When we stopped for gas, we'd chat with riders from all over. It was nice, let me tell you.

When Dan and I arrived at the parking lot of Mt. Rushmore, we found a place, among the hundreds of motorcycles there, to park and dismounted. I was quite impressed with the sculpture making up the Mt Rushmore National Monument. We took some photographs of the monument, gazed at it for a while, and hit the road for Deadwood City.

In Deadwood City, we went to the Number 10 Saloon where Wild Bill Hickok was shot dead while playing poker. Dan and I played the slots until we got tired of losing. We were just havin' fun, anyway.

We rode toward Sturgis, deciding to stay at the Buffalo Chip Campground just outside of town. For less than $20 per night, we each got camping, access to food and beverages, and concerts by bands like Steppenwolf, Charlie Daniels, and the Doobie Brothers, among others. We stayed three nights there.

During the day, we'd ride to Sturgis and walk around taking in the sights, looking at motorcycles, babes, motorcycles, babes... We went to Deadwood City again, wandering around and checking out the saloons up and down the main drag.

Our last day in the area we went to Rapid City to 'Shotgun Willie's' a bar featuring strippers. There were some real beautiful ladies there, and in stark contrast to some other places to which I've been, they looked like they were having fun.

Friday morning Dan and I headed west along with Phil, an owner-operater out of the Bay area. Phil was on a late model 80" Harley and set the pace all the way to Reno.

Along the way, we stopped just east of Wright, Wyoming to photograph a herd of bison. Our concern about stampeding the herd from the noise we might make kept us from getting any real good pictures, however.

When we got to Reno, Phil went on to the Bay, Dan stayed in town to do some sightseeing, and I headed home to plan next year's trip to Sturgis.

Any Vikings wanting to go along with Dan and me are welcome to ride with us. Just contact either of us at SFV. See ya, and ride safe!

Fall 1991 Independent Times, Viking Freight

Heads Up on Delayed Onset Headache

Happy Birthday.

Your head is killing you. You puke... nothing. You are out of synch with yourself. You are tired. You just wanna go back to sleep. Good luck with that. Every sound or flash of light just pounds on you. And you get real dizzy when you close your eyes.

You are hung over.

So what happened? You remember the folks yelling at you. You remember blowing out the candles on a cake. You remember the ice cream. You remember the two big pieces of cake. You remember that you got thirsty, so you drank...a sweetened ice tea, you think. Wait, you had a birthday celebration last night. But no booze?

How did that happen? How did you manage to get a HUMONGOUS ‘just-wanna-die’ hangover without drinking yourself under a table?

When you drink an alky drink, your body turns the ethanol (alcohol) into acetic acid. Through the breakdown of glucose, aka glycolysis, acetic acid produces acetyl CoA which reduces your blood sugar level. When your blood sugar level goes down enough you can get a headache, you can feel like puking, you can feel like crap [From crapulent, sick from gluttony, from Late Latin crapulentus, very drunk, from Latin crapula, intoxication, from Greek kraipale]

When you eat or drink sugar, your body breaks down the sugar to make glucose which breaks down into carbon dioxide and water; and energy is released. Once that energy is released, your blood sugar goes down. If you eat too much sugar, you can increase your blood sugar level way up, and when the level crashes you can get sick from gluttony and feel like crap.

You got this delayed onset headache syndrome from the sugar in the cake, and in the ice cream, and in the ice tea.

Bear in mind that your results from blood sugar changes may vary from those of other folks. Some folks can drink huge amounts of alcohol and not experience a delayed onset headache. Other folks can get sick right away from drinking. And there are other folks in between. The same considerations apply with sugar consumption.

The pain associated with a hangover is a result of your body's effort to cope with the systemic overload of sugar or ethanol.

If you are diabetic, you get to manage your blood sugar level. If you are not diabetic, you get to reduce or retime your consumption of sugar or ethanol. Or, you can continue to consume at your current level and live with the pain.

So, you can get a hangover from too much sugar or alcohol. Alcohol and sugar use can lead to blood sugar level decline; such decline can lead to delayed onset headaches.

4.20.2010

Update from Dr Raeburn Forbes MD(Hons) FRCP Ed FRCP Lond
Consultant Neurologist

Dear Doc
Thanks for your enquiry to http://www.severe-headache-expert.com. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to respond, but the amount of interest has been impressive and I still feel I should respond to everyone in person.
Before I go any further, please remember that this information should be shared with your own doctor, as it is not a substitute for proper medical care.
I suspect that the most likely reason for someone having headaches associated by large intakes of sugars is migraine. Many people with migraine experience cravings for foods (often carbs) in the hours before a migraine develops. This then makes them think (quite reasonably) that there symptoms are secondary to the sugary food. In fact the ingestion of this sugary food is simply an indication that a migraine is due.
Would you please discuss this possibility with your own doctor? If this is migraine then some simple measures such as regular, quality sleep, eating healthy food regularly (enough to avoid feeling really hungry), keeping hydrated, minimising stress, keeping a healthy weight and regular gentle exercise may be all that you need to do. There are also many effective treatments for the pain of migraine and also severeal preventative treatments - but these all work best when you try to look after yourself physically and mentally to the best of your abilities.

Regarding hangover headaches - avoiding alcohol is the only proven measure, but there are others - search hangover treatments on the website.

Coming on the heels of the shooting spree at Ft Hood in <st1:place protection justifies war, has dimmed. You can be snatched away, coercively interrogated, crippled, and even killed with no recourse to you. You do not even have to pick a pocket or break somebody’s leg to be a target. There are plenty of government employees who are willing to target you, to pick your pocket and/or break your leg at your expense.

You are responsible for your safety. You may delegate such responsibility at your expense to a willing agent. You are still ultimately answerable for your agent’s actions on your behalf, and you are still ultimately responsible for your safety. Unless you are a willing agent to whom another delegated the responsibility for his safety you have no standing to defend anyone else.

This means that you have no business going, in the name of eradicating certain behaviour, to faraway lands to kill folks who just happened to be unlucky enough to be in the area of your hostile actions. Hostilities against behaviour become hostilities against folks. These folks are just like you.

<br in their riding gear, under a camouflage-patterned desert sky with black, grey, and white clouds, as a brisk breeze blew away the dirty white smoke that plumed from the exhaust pipes of their machines.

Amid the snarls of engines warming up, two yellow-helmeted racers on white Yamahas at the end of the front row held a hasty shouted conference. Their hands sketched in the air the turns and twists of the race course ahead. They appeared to be ten to twelve years old.

<span rubbed a red-gloved hand along her white-and-red Cordora pants tucked into mid-calf-high riding boots. She wore a long-sleeved red jersey under her armour. Her shiny brown hair flowed from under her white-and-red helmet down to the middle of her chest and back.

<br printed in black block letters on it. A pair of burly clean-shaven club members wearing bright orange windbreakers, red t-shirts, and red baseball caps held the banner aloft with two poles.

The banner fell rest of the platoon followed. One fellow’s red Honda reared up on its back wheel. He flung his body over the handlebar, easing off of the throttle. The bike trembled for just a second. The front wheel came down and the racer sped on his way.

<div the bridge, landing just beyond the bottom of its ramp.

Yammy zipped over a trio of small hills, soared off the last one, and slammed to earth on his front wheel. Right behind, Suzi sailed over all three berms and class="MsoNormal">

Straightening out, they jammed through the tunnel under the bridge. The riders abruptly slowed and putted through a chute of hay bales to the start line for another go-around.

There is a scourge upon this land of ours, a major threat to the American way of life, a most dangerous menace to the domestic tranquility of our beloved Republic. I am referring to the monumental struggle between the upright members of our communities and the degenerate drug fiends who wish to live their lives unfettered by the multitude of regulations essential to the imposition of an ordered society. Attempts to control the dope fiends have led, among other things, to the development to drug tests in order to detect them. The dope addicts have, in return, devised methods of camouflaging or even obliterating evidence of their habits.

Our wise and benevolent government, led by such upstanding leaders as Nancy Reagan and Edwin Meese, has proposed testing all Americans for drug use. But the courts have blocked efforts by the government to test at random, citing something called the Fourth and Fifth Amendments of the U S Constitution. So the all-knowing corporations, which are not bound by such constraints, must step in to make all Americans conform to the desires of our betters, in order for us to remain free from choice. Dope fiends and other subversives oppose efforts by the Establishment to test for drug use on the grounds that first, personal use of the job is no one’s business; second, drug screens are prone to false positives, up to 60% in some cases; and third drug screens indicate usage, but do not measure impairment. Of course, all right-thinking Americans understand that, first, no one has a right to privacy; second, in the war against free choice, some sacrifices are necessary, so if some people are mistakenly identified as drug users, they can take consolation in the fact that progress is being made in the fight to eradicate drug use, besides, anyone who test positive in a drug test is probably a subversive any way and should be terminated; and third, it does not matter whether a drug user is impaired or not, the important consideration is the use of drugs.

This report will list some of the drug tests available to drug testers. Then methods used to beat drug screens will be discussed.

Currently, catching drug users involves a drug screen, the first step of which is the collection of urine. If the collected sample tests positive, a comprehensive test is used to confirm the suspect’s usage of drugs. Generally, the drug screens are easier to beat than the comprehensive tests. If the sample tests negative, no additional test is done.

The various drug tests available to the guardians of decency and morality include different types of thin-layer chromatography (TLC), enzyme immunoassay (EIA), radioimmunoassay (RIA), and computer-assisted gas-chromatography/mass-spectrometry (GS/MS). The first two are more often used as drug screens, the latter two as comprehensive tests.

In order to avoid being caught, dope fiends may use various methods to circumvent the testing process. These include substitution, contamination, dilution, and cleansing.

Drug addicts may substitute clean urine for their own. This is very effective if the collection process is not closely monitored. Frequently, a subversive will use a collection bag, easily obtained at any medical supply source. The bag is hidden, sometimes under an armpit, where it can be squeezed at the right time, with the hose strategically positioned and secured in place. Underwear which will obscure the viewing of the collection of the sample is worn. The drug addicts will often practice using this method before taking the drug test. This method can be combated by surprise collection or by requiring the removal of clothing prior to sample collection.

A drug fiend may contaminate the sample after or even during collection. Sometimes, an acid or alkali will be added to the urine sample by means of a medicine dropper or hypodermic syringe. However, if the PH of the sample is checked prior to testing the contamination might become obvious. Another method of contamination is the addition of table salt. This method can cause the sample to register negative. An alternative method is to use a saline solution. Salt contamination is almost impossible to detect. Dope fiends have been caught when they added too much salt to their sample because the salt that does not dissolve sinks to the bottom of the collection vessel and becomes visible. Again, many experienced subversives practice prior to utilizing contamination methods.

Some dope fiends drink large quantities of liquids such as water, fruit juice, Kool-Aid, apple juice, vinegar, or alcoholic beverages. Water and fruit juices not only dilute the urine, they also acidify it to the point that the excretion of THC metabolites is reduced extensively. Vinegar also acidifies urine. In fact, some subversives will drink four to eight ounces daily. Large scale consumption of alcoholic beverages not only dilutes urine, but also allegedly cleanses the excretory system of all traces of outlawed substances. All of the above methods result in increased urine output. Additionally, the alcohol method causes many subversives to suffer liver and brain damage resulting from extensive alcohol consumption. Serves them right, too.

A few dope fiends use something called Golden Seal Root, available in many health food stores, themselves hotspots of subversion. A half teaspoon of this stuff is boiled in one pint of water. The dopers drink about a cup a day for a week, and then break for another week before repeating the process. Urine excreted by someone on this regimen will generally test negative for the presence of THC. Some users experience digestive or nervous upsets, or both.

As the war to replace freedom of choice with freedom from choice continues, more tests will be needed and developed. But drug fiends will be discovering methods to beat those tests. So, more reports will be written and made available. Until then, remember:

<span style="font-size: style="font-family:arial;">
This is a lovely well written bit of pro-State propaganda, by Michael Powell, at around 2000, or so. I checked Snopes at http://www.snopes.com/military/sixboys.asp I found this story at Truth or Fiction: :http://truthorfiction.com/rumors/b/bravesoldiers.htm. Both accounts that I saw included the observation that the last few paragraphs of this piece were included after Powell wrote it.

A photographer, Joe Rosenthal, reportedly photographed the second raising of a Flag on a mountain five days into a thirty-five day battle. This picture lead to the sculpting of the USMC War Memorial idolized in “Six Boys”. The “Flag” picture was actually a propaganda effort. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Iwo_Jima for information on the battle, here for the taking of the “Flag” picture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raising_the_Flag_on_Iwo_Jima
and here for the making of the statue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USMC_War_Memorial.

“Six Boys and Thirteen Hands”(Six Boys) is corrupt. The underlying premise to this piece is that your life belongs to someone else, that you have an obligation to serve nonentities called by such names as “faith,” “family,” or “fatherland”.

You don’t need someone to fight on your behalf at everyone’s expense. You can defend your self. You can delegate your defense at your expense to a willing agent. You have the right to decide whether to use lethal or non-lethal reaction to aggressive action directed against you. You do not have the right to inflict collateral damage, that is, casualties on noncombatants.

You owe nothing to a metaphysical nonentity. Nor do you owe a duty to someone or something, just because you are alive.

What is freedom for which so many “lay down their lives?” Here is a definition of freedom:
· "Freedom in its most elemental state is the power to withdraw one's consent when the State-or anyone else-lays an improper claim to one's life or property." -Will Grigg Reflections on Resurrection Sunday: We're Commanded to be Free ProLiberate 3.23.2008 http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com/search?q=reflections+on+resurrection+day

In a Utopian world, our agendas would all be compatible. In the real world, we often have partially-or even totally- incompatible agendas. Some of us try to resolve differences through negotiation. Some of us use force, -or threaten to use force –to authorize us to seize what we want. Some of us support one or the other.

The core of this paean to sacrifice is that some 7,000 men died to secure an island of negligible value in the name of securing the freedoms of “the People,” residents of a nation-state.

And this inconsequential event was promoted as a monumental battle for the greater good of the citizens of a nation-state. Many folks saw the flag raising as the climax of the Iwo Jima battle, when in fact, it was just a stunt to elevate the morale of government employees and their family members and friends.

The most pernicious part of “Six Boys” is that there is really no point to Bradley’s remarks. It’s just a collection of words meant to make readers experience emotive reactions in support for government employees.

Biking Magic 11.20.1992

Magic. This word can help you ride your bike on the street or in the dirt by using five easy tricks.

The first trick is to “Move your eyes.” When riding, don’t stare at one place, even if you should see a unicorn. Instead, look over your shoulder, to your right, to your left, or just in front of yourself.

When you move your eyes, you also must “Always look ahead,” your second trick. Try to see what’s way in front of you as you ride. Watch for a car pulling out of a driveway a block ahead of you, for example. Or if you’re riding on a trail, look for fallen trees, or fallen giants for that matter.

If you always look ahead, you will “Get the whole scene.” This third trick lets you check out what’s going on across the street from where you will be in a minute, or that hot-dogger who doesn’t seem to be paying attention to where he’s going on your side of the trail.

By getting the whole scene, you will be able to use the fourth trick, “Imagine your escape.” Think about where you will go if that hot-dogger wipes out in front of you, and turns into a tree. Where will you go if a car pulls out of a driveway right in your way? Will you be able to stop in time to avoid hitting the rider or the car? Leave a way out for you to go.

When you have imagined your escape, you’re ready to “Connect with ‘em,” your fifth and last magic trick. Wave at drivers who might be about to turn into your path; if possible, make eye contact with them. Wear brightly-colored clothing. Have reflectors on your bike. Make sure other people, and low-flying pegasii, know you’re around so they don’t crash into you.

Move your eyes. Always look ahead. Get the whole scene. Imagine your escape. Connect with ‘em. By using these five tricks, you can enjoy years of riding your bike without crashing. Remembering the tricks is easy. The first letters of the tricks spell magic.

Ten ways to make sure you're a helpless victim 12.13.1989

Achieving an education at Mission College can be challenging and fun, even though you may have some high anxiety about grades and test results.

But for sheer excitement, nothing quite beats being assaulted or ripped off. If getting mugged makes you orgasmic, following these suggestions ought to keep you in ecstasy:
1) Walk alone. Thugs just love people who travel by themselves. It's a lot easier to attack just one person than two or more.
2) Be totally unaware of what's going on around you. If you're oblivious to potential trouble, you can be caught by surprise and hurt/robbed before you even realise what's happening.
3) Walk hesitantly, in short starts and stops, leaping and twitching at every little noise. Walking like a victim helps your chances of becoming one.
4) At night, stay off lighted, well-traveled streets, and park as far away as possible from your classrooms and from other students' cars. Take short-cuts down dark alleys and streets as you walk to and from class. Who knows, maybe there's a bad guy lurking in the shadows, just waiting for the chance to pounce on you. Oh, the excitement of it all!
5) When going to your car, keep the keys safe in a difficult-to-reach pocket or buried deeply in a huge purse. Fumbling for keys at a car door allows a mugger or rapist more time to move in on you, his intended target.
6) Before you enter your car, don't bother looking into it to check that no one is hiding in back, just drooling at the thought of your presence. Surprises are such fun, aren't they?
7) Always wear tight clothing that restricts free movement. You don't wan to get away; you want the bogeyman to catch you, right?

And if you're ripe for the raging that results from a roaring ripoff, just follow these easy steps and you too can be a loser:
8) Leave your belongings unattended. Whoever steals them probably needs them more than you do, anyway.
9) Don't bother marking your valuables, including books, car stereo equipment, and car battery, with your name, social-security number or other identification. Otherwise, how can you achieve that overwhelming feeling of helplessness if you get your stolen stuff back?
10) When parking, leave your car doors and hood unlocked to make stealing from you a breeze. While you're at it, go ahead and leave your car keys in the ignition. Then a thief can take your whole car. Just think of the thrill of not having to fumble for your keys, and being alone a on a dark, little-traveled street.

If after following these steps, you do get pounded or robbed, don't call the Campus Police at 365-8271, extension 311, or 911 for other law-enforcement agencies. Just clean up the mess in your car and all over your body-that is, if either your car or your body still exists- and get on with your life.

After all, you got the tingling excitement you were lusting for, didn't you?

Warning: this essay contains Swiftian Analytical Logic Elements (SALEs). Readers who are deficient in SALEs acumen may be offended.

Reader indiscretion is not advised.

This essay is for entertainment only.

It has not been evaluated by any Federal agency, nor is it intended to diagnose, prevent, treat, or cure any condition.

Random Observations

If you live long enough, you die. Their program includes more prisons, money, and testing. But more, much more is needed.

President Bush should declare a state of emergency and suspend the Constitution for the duration of this crisis. We don't really need all those Constitutional rights, anyway. The Germans in the 1930's and 40's got along just fine without them. So do the Russians and the Chinese.

Drugs were not a problem in Germany and are not a problem in Russia and China because the penalty for drug dealing or use is typically death.

We must all realize that our leaders know better than we what is good for us, and we must let them do our thinking for us and decide what we should be allowed to have or use.

With the Constitution suspended, our government will be able to more effectively combat drug abuse. Of course, a few bleeding-heart-type liberals might object to the suspension, but they could be rounded up and shot.

The war against drugs will begin by instituting mandatory drug testing of all Americans. Anyone who tests positive will be shipped to a detention center and gassed.

Since drugs are such a threat to our youth, all our children will be body-searched. Any youngsters found with drugs will be garroted on the spot as an example to other children.

This will have two benefits: First drug use among children will be choked out; and second, there will be less overcrowding of classrooms.

The property of all drug subversives will be confiscated, sold, and the proceeds used to defray the costs of fighting drug abuse.

Ensuring a drug-free America requires the eradication of illegal drug crops, processing centres, and labs wherever they may be found. Within our beloved borders, toxic and radioactive wastes from sources such as Three Mile Island, Love Canal, or Chernobyl will be dumped on any area where drug crops are grown or processed.

This will not only growing of illicit plants unlikely, but help such wastes be put to good use. After we have a drug-free land, our kinder and gentler government could continue the program in other countries by nuking their drug crops, processing centers, and labs.

That is necessary to prevent us weak-willed Americans from being tempted by imported drugs. That would also put American nuclear weaponry to good use. It is the duty of all decent Americans to crush illegal drug use-even if it means renouncing our civil rights and liberties. It's a small price to pay for a drug-free American.

<span style="font-family:
